This special collaboration with the Shanghai Dance School marks a significant celebration of World Ballet Day and the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China bilateral ties. It is a momentous event that emphasizes our shared cultural heritage and deepens the connection between our nations. By joining forces, we aim to produce a performance that highlights exceptional talent from both countries and delights audiences in Malaysia and beyond.
"A Dance Memoir" is a unique and inspiring project that features 17 young dancers, ages 10-15, selected from various dance schools, alongside 11 pre-professional and professional dancers. The performance will depict a dancer's journey from the early stages of ballet training to a mature understanding of life. Through this artistic expression, we hope to inspire audiences and underscore the significance of pursuing their dreams.
World Ballet Day is an internationally celebrated event where dancers and artists from around the globe come together to share their passion for dance. This special day unites individuals of all ages, from young children to the elderly, and from amateurs to professionals, creating a global community of dance enthusiasts. It is a day of joy, movement, and expression that transcends borders and backgrounds.
Grit, determination and perseverance: the beauty and grace of a dancer’s life and dream revealed.
